Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Perception Engineer to join their perception team focused on developing autonomous driving solutions. The role involves building advanced 3D obstacle perception solutions using multi-sensor fusion techniques, primarily leveraging deep learning. The engineer will work on enhancing the robustness, accuracy, and efficiency of these solutions to enable autonomous driving in various environments. This position requires collaboration with data teams to optimize data collection and improve system performance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on work experience in developing deep learning algorithms for real-world problems.
  • Proficiency in using deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
  • Experience in multi-sensor fusion for perception tasks, particularly in high-resolution world reconstruction.
  • Proven experience in production deep learning model development, including data verification and model architecture design.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Develop multi-sensor fusion based deep learning models for obstacle perception in complex driving environments.
  • Conduct applied research and development of innovative algorithms to enhance 3D obstacle perception accuracy.
  • Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of developed solutions using large scale benchmark data and improve them iteratively.
  • Productize 3D obstacle perception solutions by meeting safety, latency, and software robustness requirements.
  • Drive data-driven development by collaborating with data collection and labeling teams to maximize data value.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
