The EDA Tools Software Engineer will join the Design Technology Platform team at Intel, focusing on developing software tools and methodologies that enhance semiconductor design processes. This role is crucial for enabling design teams to innovate and meet complex manufacturability requirements. The engineer will work at the intersection of software development and semiconductor design, directly impacting Intel's technological leadership. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to define specifications and automate workflows.

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field with 8+ years of experience, or a Ph.D. in the same fields with 5+ years of experience.
• 3+ years of experience with scripting languages such as Python, Tcl, or Perl for automation or testing in Unix/Linux environments.
• 3+ years of experience with EDA tools including Calibre, ICV, or Pegasus, and skills in developing rule decks.
• 5+ years of experience in semiconductor device physics and/or process technology, and translating physical design challenges into software solutions.

• Design, develop, and debug software tools and methodologies for process design and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with process developers, design rule owners, and end users to define technology specifications and implement optimal solutions.
• Automate workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and deployment across teams.
• Build and execute test cases to validate software tools, ensuring seamless integration with design methodologies.
• Engage with internal partners and external EDA vendors to coordinate tool feature requirements and specifications.
• Assess and isolate performance contributors for technology features as part of enablement.
• Identify and analyze problems, plans, tasks, and solutions.
