Apple's Platform Architecture Engineering team is seeking an electrical engineer to take ownership of board designs from start to finish. This small, cross-functional group works on diverse projects that range from prototypes to proofs-of-concept, collaborating closely with domain experts. The role involves defining systems, capturing schematics, and overseeing the bring-up and debugging of designs. Each project presents unique challenges, requiring a strong foundation in various electrical engineering domains.

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree.
• Experience designing and developing custom PCBs and electronic systems.
• Experience taking board designs through the full cycle: architecture, schematic capture, board bring-up, and debug.
• MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree and 10+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strong fundamentals across the breadth of electrical engineering, with deep expertise in one or more core domains.
• Experience with high-speed interfaces and their design challenges.
• Experience designing embedded hardware integrating a processor with power, clocking, and sensors.
• Familiarity with FPGA-based board design and collaboration with RTL engineers.
• Proven track record of defining and driving loosely scoped work with creative approaches to complex problems.
• Skilled with AI tools as a productivity multiplier, balanced by sound judgment.

• Independently own every electrical engineering decision and deliverable on one or more small project teams.
• Take board designs from architecture to a working prototype.
• Define the system and capture schematics for projects.
