The PCB Design Engineer will be a key member of the Amazon Leo Government team, focusing on the design and analysis of satellite and ground systems. This role involves delivering innovative solutions for communication and control needs of electronics sub-systems. The engineer will lead tasks such as schematic review, PCB layout, and board testing while collaborating with other engineers. A strong emphasis will be placed on understanding customer requirements and ensuring proposed solutions meet their goals.

• Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience in motherboard design and PCB design including schematic capture, stackup, and circuit board layout.
• Proficiency in industry-standard EDA tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or Mentor PADS.
• Strong understanding of PCB manufacturing processes, materials, and stack-up design.
• Experience with multi-layer board design of 16 or more layers.
• Knowledge of high-speed digital design principles including DDR, PCIe, USB, and Ethernet.
• Familiarity with IPC standards such as IPC-2221 and IPC-7351.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

• Interact directly with customers to understand technical requirements and translate them into robust solutions.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and firmware teams to optimize board layouts.
• Apply design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test principles to ensure producibility and testability.
• Manage design constraints including impedance control and high-speed signal integrity.
• Generate fabrication and assembly documentation including Gerber files and bill of materials.
• Conduct design rule checks and electrical rule checks to verify design integrity.
• Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations for layout improvements.
• Design and support test campaigns for space hardware.
