The Production Manufacturing Engineer role at Amazon's Low Earth Orbit initiative focuses on optimizing mechanical design and manufacturability for aerospace applications. • 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience with prototyping and implementation
• Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
• Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume

• Lead DFMA initiatives for mechanical component and assembly designs.
• Partner closely with mechanical design engineers and suppliers to optimize part geometry and assembly methods.
• Conduct comprehensive design reviews to identify and resolve manufacturability issues.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through rigorous DFMA analysis.
• Collaborate with suppliers to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing BOMs and cycle time standards.
• Plan assembly line layouts for various capacities and rates.
• Execute flight and non-flight build and test campaigns.
• Implement automated quality statistical process controls.
• Prepare reports documenting key performance indicators and communicate issues effectively.
