Amazon Lab126 is looking for a Test Engineer to design, develop, and implement test solutions for Amazon Devices. The role involves hands-on work including writing test scripts, building fixtures, and analyzing failure data. The team focuses on ensuring that repaired and refurbished devices meet quality standards before they are reintroduced to customers. This position requires collaboration with various teams to support the circular economy in consumer electronics.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of consumer electronics experience
  • Experience with general troubleshooting and debugging of hardware
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in technical support or networking administration
  • Experience scripting or coding
  • Experience in operational excellence or process improvement roles
  • Experience working with and managing third party vendors

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and validate end-to-end test sequences for customer return screening and repair verification
  • Write and maintain automated test scripts and diagnostic software for Amazon Device products
  • Create and maintain test coverage documents for new product introductions
  • Design, build, and deploy test fixtures and diagnostic tooling to support testing
  • Execute hands-on testing, root cause analysis, and failure characterization
  • Debug and troubleshoot test fixture issues to minimize downtime
  • Own test readiness deliverables for new product introductions within Reverse Logistics

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
