Job description
As a Sr RF engineer on the Leo Government Solutions team, you will create Radio Frequency circuit solutions to support Amazon Leo's satellite communication system. This role offers a unique opportunity to define a new system with minimal legacy constraints. You will work on designing, analyzing, and optimizing RF systems for satellite communication payloads and ground systems. The position requires deep expertise in electromagnetic theory and satellite communication architectures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
- 7+ years of wireless communications systems and implementation experience.
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
- Experience with the project management of technical projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test RF subsystems for satellite communication payloads.
- Perform RF link budget analysis for uplink, downlink, and inter-satellite links across multiple frequency bands.
- Develop and validate RF simulation models using tools such as HFSS, CST, or ADS.
- Design and characterize antenna systems including phased arrays and reflector antennas.
- Design passive microwave structures including couplers, dividers, and integrated filtering.
- Develop and support integration and test activities for RF hardware.
- Collaborate with systems engineers to define RF performance requirements and interface specifications.
- Experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.
