Job description
The role at Rivian focuses on vehicle hardware validation within the Vehicle Hardware Validation team. The team collaborates with Exterior and broader Vehicle Hardware Engineering to ensure robust performance of interior, closures, structures, and chassis systems. The position requires developing and managing validation plans and strategies while continuously improving test methods. Candidates will also engage in vendor collaboration and troubleshooting issues during validation processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 1-2+ years of experience in automotive requirements, validation, and/or mechanical system design.
- Deep familiarity with vehicle hardware validation, including environmental and durability tests.
- Experience developing and interpreting DVP&R and DFMEA-driven validation plans.
- Strong command of statistical methods for validation.
Responsibilities
- Own vehicle hardware validation plans and develop comprehensive subsystem validation plans.
- Define verification strategies at system, subsystem, and component levels.
- Research and benchmark new industry validation methods and introduce necessary tests.
- Lead vendor collaboration and manage on-site execution of validation testing.
- Troubleshoot issues identified during validation and work with teams to define corrective actions.
