Job description

We are looking for a UEFI BIOS Engineer to join our team focused on developing next-generation server platforms. This role involves enhancing the reliability, serviceability, and security of Apple datacenter systems. You will collaborate with skilled engineers and have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the field. Your contributions will be crucial in delivering robust UEFI BIOS firmware architecture.

Requirements

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 6+ years of experience as a UEFI BIOS or Firmware Engineer with UEFI BIOS experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, along with scripting experience in Bash and Python.
  • Understanding of AMI Aptio V and EDK2 development, as well as industry-standard specifications like ACPI, IPMI, PCIe, SMBIOS, and UEFI.
  • Expertise in server platform interfaces, including PCIe, I2C/I3C, SPI, PMBus, UART, GPIO, PECI/APML, and Ethernet controllers.

Responsibilities

  • Design the UEFI BIOS firmware architecture.
  • Collaborate with ODM to develop BIOS and ensure its robustness against security threats.
  • Deliver features that uphold strong infrastructure reliability, serviceability, and security.
  • Work with BMC on platform enablement.
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve technical and schedule challenges proactively.
