Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a highly skilled Senior Failure Analysis Engineer to focus on die-level logic fault localization for advanced semiconductor devices. This role involves collaboration with Design, Test, and DFT teams to identify root causes of silicon failures and improve yield. The engineer will utilize hands-on failure analysis methodologies and work with various testing platforms. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on product quality and reliability.

Requirements

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a closely related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience in semiconductor failure analysis, yield engineering, or product engineering.
  • Strong practical experience with the Advantest 93K test platform.
  • Good understanding of DFT basics and logic fault localization.
  • Expert level experience on LFI techniques such as LVP, EMMI, SDL, OBIRCH, or other photon/laser-based techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex, hands-on failure analysis and root cause identification using physical and electrical fault isolation methodologies.
  • Utilize the Advantest 93K platform to test and characterize DUT and setup required test-looping to enable LVP, SDL and other FA techniques.
  • Leverage knowledge of Design for Test (DFT) basics to interpret test patterns and guide fault isolation strategies.
  • Analyze test results to distinguish between design, fab process, or tester-induced failures, delivering actionable corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Test Engineering, and Foundry Engineering teams to resolve yield, performance, and reliability issues.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
