Job description

The role is part of Apple's Camera Technologies group, focusing on designing innovative camera hardware for Apple products. The team is responsible for developing superior camera systems, including various camera types and depth sensing modules. Candidates will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the photography experience for millions of customers. This position requires a proactive and self-motivated individual who can tackle complex challenges in camera technology.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field of interest.
  • Experience in high-speed signal and/or PDN fundamentals.
  • Experience with mainstream tool chains such as HFSS, SI-Wave/PSI, Q3D, CST, and/or ADS.
  • MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field with at least 3 years of industry-related experience.
  • Academic or industry exposure to camera or SI/PI technical areas and/or electromagnetic concepts.
  • Experience running substrate, package, flex, and/or PCB level SI/PI simulations.
  • Comfortable handling VNA, TDR, and/or Oscilloscope in academic or professional settings.
  • Great communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Academic knowledge or experience with image sensors or camera modules.
  • Proficient in using JMP for statistical analysis.
  • Experience in Python scripting for automating simulation setup.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop innovative camera hardware for Apple products.
  • Collaborate with teams across Apple to research and test camera systems.
  • Qualify camera hardware to ensure a superior user experience.
  • Contribute to the design of sensor and lens technologies.
  • Support the development of depth sensing and face ID modules.
