Job description

Amazon Robotics is looking for a Senior Engineer to join the Resource Management team, focusing on architecting, designing, and developing robotic fulfillment technologies. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers to create scalable robotic systems that optimize work assignment and product storage. The engineer will also mentor junior team members and work closely with various stakeholders to enhance robotic solutions. The position is crucial for ensuring timely package delivery to Amazon's retail customers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience mentoring, leading, or managing junior engineers
  • Experience in AWS services
  • M.S./Ph.D. in Science or a related field
  • Strong background in algorithms and experience developing algorithms for scalable systems
  • Experience in autonomous path planning or navigational solutions
  • Robotics expertise with hardware and firmware interactions

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and implement robotic applications and infrastructure
  • Influence the team's strategy and contribute to the long-term vision and roadmap
  • Work with stakeholders across science and operations teams to iterate on design and implementation
  • Maintain high standards by participating in reviews and designing for fault tolerance
  • Prototype and test concepts or features through simulation and with live robotic equipment
  • Work directly with customers and partners to test prototypes and incorporate feedback
  • Mentor other engineer team members
  • Utilize Robotics and engineering processes and technologies
