Job description

The Sr. Design Release Engineer, Service Engineering at Rivian is responsible for overseeing the creation, approval, and release of service-specific mechanical and electrical parts. This role involves collaboration with service engineers to develop 2D drawings and 3D renderings that meet Rivian's service part release requirements. The engineer will lead the release of service-only electrical and mechanical assemblies, focusing on wire harness components. The position requires strong technical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering field
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant field
  • Experience working in an automotive environment is a plus
  • Proficiency in CATIA (V5/V6) is required
  • Ability to create and interpret GD&T drawings
  • Experience with change management using systems like Enovia

Responsibilities

  • Lead the release of service-only electrical assemblies with a focus on wire harness creation
  • Coordinate with service engineers to conceptualize and design part assemblies
  • Provide relevant technical input as needed
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Maintain documentation that tracks decisions and approvals
  • Create and manage the bill of materials for wiring harness repair components
