The Systems Design Engineer role at KLA focuses on managing high-priority escalations and driving continuous improvement in the escalation process. This position is part of the RAPID division, which specializes in reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with a passion for operational excellence and collaboration across diverse teams. The role involves leading engineering development projects for mask inspection products and ensuring effective communication among engineering, manufacturing, and service teams.
Requirements
- BS degree and 3 years of work experience or MS degree and 2 years of work experience in a technical field.
- Advanced degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences is preferred.
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills are essential.
- A track record for leading teams through influence rather than direct reporting line is required.
- Curiosity and a disposition towards learning fast beyond immediate knowledge span are important.
Responsibilities
- Manage high-priority escalations and drive continuous improvement in the escalation process.
- Lead engineering development projects for mask inspection products in the RAPID division.
- Assess and evaluate risks while driving projects forward with a focus on critical path.
- Communicate cross-functionally with diverse teams to ensure effective execution.
- Encourage and empower team members to achieve excellence in engineering rigor and customer focus.
- Identify bottlenecks and remove obstacles to allow the team to focus on value-add activities.
- Hold regular meetings between functional groups to ensure interdependencies are understood and documented.
