Amazon is looking for qualified Security Engineers to join its Information Security team, specifically within the Security Incident Response Team (SIRT). Requirements
- 2+ years of scripting, programming, and security code review in a common programming language experience
- 2+ years of troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating basic tasks using command line tools experience
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or 2+ years of IT Security experience
- Knowledge of industry-based security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques
- Experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, software development, cryptography, system administration, and network security
- Knowledge of networking protocols, including HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP
- Experience with AWS products and services
- Experience performing security activities across one or more phases of the software development lifecycle
Responsibilities
- Respond to security incidents and coordinate a cohesive response involving multiple teams across Amazon.
- Provide security engineering solutions and support during customer-facing incidents.
- Assist in the development of pragmatic solutions that meet business requirements while managing risk.
- Identify and recommend solutions that enhance Amazon's incident response capabilities.
- Work alongside and mentor Information Security engineers to improve security and address risk.
- Evaluate the impact of current security trends and coordinate responses as necessary.
- Keep knowledge and skills current with the rapidly changing threat landscape.
- Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation.
