The role of Engineering Manager / Tech Lead Manager at Apple focuses on driving innovation in Ads Recommendations within the Advertising Platforms group. This position requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of ad network behavior to develop a roadmap for the next generation advertiser recommendation engine. The manager will work with cross-functional partners to optimize campaign performance and enhance the advertiser experience. Additionally, the role involves mentoring a talented team of engineers and ensuring the deployment of scalable and reliable systems.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in machine learning, statistics, and quantitative optimization.
- At least 2-3 years of experience as a tech lead or at least 1 year as an engineering manager.
- Deep understanding of modern machine learning techniques, statistics, and quantitative optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Python or Java in a production environment.
- Proficiency in databases, SQL, and scripting languages for data processing and model deployment.
- BS, or equivalent experience, in AI, ML, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience leading teams that apply advanced statistical/ML methods.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement the technical strategy for building the next generation recommendation engine.
- Leverage innovative research and technology including the latest GenAI and agentic approaches.
- Shape the strategy and roadmap for campaign optimization and auction optimization.
- Design and analyze sophisticated algorithms to deliver privacy-compliant improvements.
- Execute and analyze A/B tests and pilots to drive continuous improvements.
- Work closely with engineering and business teams to scale innovations.
- Architect and scale intelligence systems, addressing operational concerns.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a talented team of engineers.
