Job description
As a Systems Integration Engineer at AWS, you will bridge the gap between software simulation environments and physical hardware, ensuring that control systems and infrastructure perform as intended before deployment. You will work within a diverse team focused on maintaining the highest standards for safety and security in AWS global infrastructure. Your role will involve designing and executing Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing to validate systems under realistic conditions. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative projects at a hyper-scale while fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Industrial Automation.
- 6+ years of experience in systems integration, HIL testing, or systems validation, preferably in data center or mission-critical infrastructure environments.
- Hands-on experience designing and operating HIL test rigs, including real-time simulation platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to interface with PLCs, BMS controllers, firmware, and SCADA systems in a closed-loop test environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and build HIL test environments that replicate realistic datacenter loading scenarios.
- Own the integration layer between physical hardware and software simulations ensuring bidirectional signal fidelity.
- Develop and execute integration test plans covering functional verification, stress testing, and fault injection.
- Define and maintain Design Verification Plans (DVPs) and acceptance criteria for integrated system behavior.
- Automate HIL test workflows using Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent tools.
Benefits
- Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
