Amazon's Specialized Businesses Security team is looking for a Security Engineer Manager to lead the Specialized Detections team. This leadership role focuses on defining the team's direction and building detection capabilities that address unique security risks. The manager will oversee two detection workstreams and ensure the delivery of actionable findings that enhance security across Amazon. The role emphasizes the application of AI to improve detection development and requires collaboration with various teams to create effective security solutions.

• 5+ years of managing and developing teams experience
• 5+ years of progressive work within a software security team or related operating environment experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• Knowledge of security of web services, video content protection technologies, cryptography, network security protocols and operating system security
• Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques
• Information security professional certification (SANS GIAC, CISSP etc.)
• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Knowledge of information security technologies such as security design review, threat modeling, risk analysis, and software testing techniques
• Experience managing remote team members

• Define the technical strategy for non-Builder Tools detections and specialized SBS detections.
• Build, hire, and develop a team of security engineers focused on detection engineering and security automation.
• Apply AI to accelerate detection development, moving from finding to production capability faster than manual rule-writing allows.
• Identify coverage gaps in Amazon's detection landscape and prioritize based on exploitability and business impact to customers.
• Deliver detection capabilities that produce actionable findings at scale.
• Partner with penetration testing, vulnerability intelligence, and AI tooling teams to create a detection-to-validation feedback loop.
• Represent the team's work in business reviews, planning, and cross-org prioritization discussions.
