Job description
This role focuses on improving the physical synthesis techniques for Apple's processors, including CPUs, GPUs, and NPUs. The position involves developing and supporting the implementation flow from RTL through GDS signoff. The expert will collaborate closely with design teams to create methodologies and tools that enhance performance and efficiency. The work will directly impact the performance of Apple devices and involve innovative scripting and automation.
Requirements
- Minimum requirement of a BS degree and 20 years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with TCL, Python, or Perl scripting languages.
- Hands-on knowledge of industry standard Synthesis and PNR tools like Genus and Innovus.
- Demonstrated experience in Implementation flows and methodologies including Synthesis, PNR, and STA sign-off.
- Solid understanding of Extraction and STA methodology and tools.
- Experience with Power Analysis tools like PTPX is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Own the synthesis challenges that matter most to Apple Silicon.
- Develop, improve, and support the implementation flow from RTL through GDS signoff.
- Partner closely with design teams to define optimal methodologies and tools.
- Develop innovative techniques and validate their effectiveness through full validation flows.
- Work directly with EDA vendors to shape tool roadmaps and build custom solutions.
