Job description
The Quality Engineer will join the Quality Engineering organization to support the quality strategy for advanced operations. This role involves collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that hardware products meet high-quality standards throughout the product lifecycle. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining the quality management system and applying various quality standards and systems. This position is suited for someone who thrives in a rapidly evolving environment and is passionate about quality engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field
- 7+ years of experience in quality engineering within environments producing complex electromechanical or precision hardware products
- Experience with APQP/PPAP processes, DFMEA/PFMEA, control plan development, and core quality tools
- Experience with metrology or dimensional inspection functions
- Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) processes and non-conformance disposition
- Demonstrated ability to influence product and process design through data-driven quality arguments
- Experience in high-mix or evolving product environments
Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Execute IQC, in-process inspection, and final product acceptance activities
- Maintain quality data systems for tracking defects, yields, escapes, and corrective actions
- Participate in DFMEAs and PFMEAs during product and process development
- Support quality readiness for New Product Introductions (NPI)
- Execute measurement system analysis (MSA), process capability studies, and validation protocols
- Execute Supplier Quality Engineering activities and conduct first article inspections
- Monitor supplier quality performance through scorecards and corrective action requests
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Process Engineering to assess supplier quality risks
- Operate and support the metrology lab and validate measurement systems
- Conduct root cause analysis for internal defects and supplier quality issues
- Support the escape and quarantine process and implement corrective actions
- Track quality metrics and drive continuous improvement through data analysis
