Job description

Rivian is seeking a Reliability Engineer to focus on the reliability of Electric Adventure Vehicles. This role involves collaborating with design, validation, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust product development from concept to production. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in reliability engineering and a passion for outdoor adventure. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.) is required.
  • One or more years of industry experience in a dedicated reliability engineering role is preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude and proven interest in reliability engineering are essential.
  • Experience facilitating Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) and leading cross-functional teams is necessary.
  • Working knowledge of a coding language, preferably Python, and statistical software for reliability analysis is required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the Design-for-Reliability (DfR) strategy for the vehicle's electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with design and validation teams to develop creative solutions for reliability problems.
  • Act as the primary reliability development expert for critical electrical systems.
  • Set and communicate reliability requirements and targets for components and subsystems.
  • Facilitate Design FMEA sessions to drive reliable design choices.
  • Develop reliability design guidelines and apply lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with simulation teams to assess problem areas before physical testing.
  • Specify reliability validation plans using a physics of failure approach.
  • Facilitate failure analysis to understand root causes of failures.
  • Develop ongoing reliability testing strategies and drive activities to mitigate risks.
