Job description
The Senior Thermal Test Engineer role at Google focuses on evaluating and improving the thermal performance of high-power server designs in a simulated data center environment. The engineer will work closely with design engineers to develop test plans, create test fixtures, and analyze thermal performance. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 4 years of experience in a thermal design/test technical environment, or 3 years with an advanced degree.
- Experience with air and liquid-cooled data center environments and Linux testing environments.
- Experience with Linux and scripting in a research and development lab.
Responsibilities
- Characterize and evaluate the thermal performance of high-power server designs using various lab equipment.
- Collaborate, develop, and execute test plans and strategies in a timely manner.
- Perform data analysis and generate test reports to improve thermal performance.
- Set up and troubleshoot systems in the Linux environment, including installing operating systems and software tools.
- Maintain lab space, tools, and materials while managing inventory of prototype devices.
