The Geotechnical Engineering Intern position at Jacobs is designed for students currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering major. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside professional engineers and designers in the Geotechnical Group, focusing on real-life challenges in subsurface investigation and laboratory testing. Interns will gain valuable experience in project coordination and relevant engineering software while contributing to critical projects. The position is hybrid, allowing for both office-based and field-based assignments.

• Must be currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering major at an accredited university and be at least a rising Junior.
• Applicants should have completed at least one course in geotechnical engineering or demonstrate a strong interest in the field.
• Candidates pursuing Master’s degree programs in geotechnical engineering are also encouraged to apply.
• Working knowledge of soil mechanics theory and laboratory testing techniques is required.
• Candidate must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

• Provide support to teams on critical projects under the supervision of Geotechnical Group staff.
• Perform inspections of exploratory and construction-related activities, specifically subsurface investigations and laboratory testing programs.
• Take field notes and draft construction plans.
• Provide construction phase services such as as-built drawing and RFI review.
• Assist in organizing reports and packaging submissions.
