Job description

Join Qualcomm's high-impact Customer Engineering team as a Staff Customer Engineer, where you will serve as a technical interface between strategic customers and internal product teams. This role focuses on enabling next-generation server processor platforms and requires a seasoned technical expert who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will drive customer adoption from concept to commercialization while delivering best-in-class technical support. Collaborating closely with various teams, you will ensure that customer system designs meet high performance and reliability standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • 6+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience in server platform design or customer-facing technical roles is preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting hyperscalers, OEMs, or ODMs in server hardware deployment is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of high-speed board design principles including DDR5, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, SerDes, and Ethernet is preferred.
  • Experience with system bring-up and debug tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers is preferred.
  • Familiarity with system firmware interactions during hardware validation is preferred.
  • Exposure to server platform compliance and interoperability standards is preferred.
  • Programming or scripting experience to aid automation or debug is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hardware support for strategic customers adopting server processor SoCs.
  • Act as a technical interface for customer hardware teams during design, bring-up, validation, and deployment phases.
  • Perform detailed reviews of customer schematics, PCB layouts, thermal designs, power delivery networks, and signal integrity plans.
  • Support SoC interface validation and debug across high-speed interfaces.
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering, software, validation, and product teams to address technical challenges.
  • Identify gaps in customer and internal design expectations and propose practical solutions.
  • Familiarize with reference platforms and platform implementation guides to support customer development.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality technical documentation, training, and onboarding material for customer enablement.
  • Drive continuous improvement of support processes and infrastructure across customer engagements.
