Job description
The WW Materials Program Manager at Apple is crucial for ensuring operational success within the Procurement organization. This strategic supply chain role focuses on materials readiness, availability, and visibility, while collaborating with Contract Manufacturers and internal teams. The position involves managing the Clear-to-Build process and developing allocation strategies for constrained materials. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related analytical field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in supply chain operations, materials management, procurement, or manufacturing planning.
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in spreadsheet modeling for supply/demand matching, forecasting, and risk assessment.
- Demonstrated experience managing Clear-to-Build (CTB), inventory allocation, or complex materials flow with Contract Manufacturers or OEMs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to management.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Clear-to-Build (CTB) process with suppliers and OEMs to ensure efficient procurement strategy.
- Provide visibility to materials supply, highlighting projected coverage and constraints.
- Develop a model with the Contract Manufacturer that incorporates specific supply chain and materials flow details.
- Create allocation strategies for constrained materials and provide direction to Global Supply Managers and Apple Suppliers.
- Challenge and influence Demand Planning and Strategic Sourcing teams to improve allocation and maximize revenue.
- Identify excess and obsolete materials risk and recommend actions to leadership to mitigate liability.
- Develop a strategic roadmap for phasing out obsolete parts and new product materials.
- Prepare and communicate critical materials updates at weekly executive program reviews.
- Ensure the logistical flow of materials necessary to meet production schedules and inventory control requirements.
