Job description

The role involves conducting research studies and developing quantitative techniques to enhance the investment process at Fidelity. The candidate will utilize econometric modeling tools to inform investment decisions and build robust quantitative tools for portfolio construction. Collaboration with investment and technology professionals is key, as well as the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical personnel. The position requires a strong background in quantitative finance and data analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or a closely related field, or a Master's degree in a similar field with no experience.
  • Three years of experience as an AM Quantitative Analyst I or in a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, MATLAB, SQL, and experience in a Linux environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and validating quantitative equity investment strategies using advanced mathematical and statistical techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial information to forecast business, industry, or economic conditions.
  • Monitor, measure, and attribute portfolio risks and returns.
  • Prepare plans of action for investment using financial analyses.
  • Interpret data on price, yield, stability, and other factors affecting investment programs.
  • Build models for market environment detection and forecasting.
  • Assist with the design and launch of new investment solutions.
  • Present the team’s investment process and quantitative frameworks to consultants and clients.
  • Collaborate closely with investment and technology professionals.
