Job description
The role involves joining Goldman Sachs' Embed Data Analytics team to independently assess the firm's internal control environment and its effectiveness in relation to current and emerging risks. The candidate will work closely with audit teams to develop innovative analytical tools that enhance audit testing efficiency and provide insights into the firm's control environment. This position requires a strong data scientist who is passionate about leveraging data to challenge norms and improve processes. The team focuses on ensuring effective controls through data-driven solutions and collaboration with various stakeholders.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, Math, or Statistics
- Strong experience in RDBMS/SQL
- Exposure to ETL Processes, Data Engineering, and Data Governance
- Experience in implementing Data Blessing/Data Quality measures and entitlement models
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
- Knowledge of basic statistics and its application to data
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Perform database-related activities including Data Modeling, Data Engineering, and Data Governance.
- Obtain and manage requirements tailored to each audit project to provide insights for auditors.
- Build production-ready analytical tools to automate repeatable processes within Internal Audit.
- Execute data analysis activities related to the extraction, transformation, and uploading of data.
- Write data analysis code in programming languages such as Python or Java.
- Identify areas for process standardization and implement automation techniques.
- Partner with audit teams to identify risks and develop innovative solutions for audit testing.
