Job description

As a CPU Pre-Silicon Verification Engineer at Intel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of next-generation CPUs. You will work within the CPU Design Team, collaborating with various engineering teams to validate complex CPU designs before manufacturing. This position focuses on developing validation strategies and methodologies to identify and resolve issues early in the product lifecycle, contributing to high-performance computing products. Your efforts will directly impact Intel's innovative processor technologies used globally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in Pre-silicon verification, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in software/programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Visual Basic/.NET, Perl, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with System Verilog, Verilog, VHDL, and verification tools like VCS or similar simulators.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive pre-silicon validation test plans.

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, and execute pre-silicon validation plans for Intel CPU core designs.
  • Validate CPU functionality, microarchitecture behavior, and system-level feature interactions across various environments.
  • Develop validation content, test scenarios, and infrastructure to improve coverage and identify functional issues early.
  • Apply coverage-driven validation techniques to ensure comprehensive verification of complex processor designs.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, verification, and platform engineering teams to optimize product quality.
  • Perform debug, root cause analysis, and failure triage for functional issues discovered during validation.
  • Develop and enhance validation methodologies, automation frameworks, and validation tools.
  • Analyze validation results, publish findings, and provide recommendations for future designs.
