This role is for engineers who will be part of the RM modeling system engineering team at Apple, focusing on modem systems features and requirements. The team is dedicated to redefining hardware technology and solving complex challenges in wireless communication. Engineers will work on modeling, designing, and simulating advanced RF systems for 4G, 5G, and 6G technologies. Collaboration with RF systems and analog circuit designers is essential to develop innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Understanding of signal processing and communication systems.
- Strong analytical skills in areas such as linear algebra and random processes.
- Experience with Matlab, C/C++, and Python for algorithm development.
- Experience with AI/ML applications in wireless communication is strongly desirable.
- Strong background in AI/ML and familiarity with tools such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with RF impairments and their impact on modem performance.
- Knowledge of RF/analog components and digital front-end processing.
- Knowledge of cellular communication standards like 5GNR and 4G LTE.
- Hands-on experience in lab testing and characterization of RF systems.
Responsibilities
- Model, design, and simulate state-of-the-art RF for modem wireless communication systems.
- Implement system models and perform detailed performance investigations for performance sign-off.
- Collaborate with RF systems and analog circuit designers to capture designs and develop models.
- Develop AI/ML modem solutions and mitigation techniques.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
