As a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) on the EC2 Spot team, you will lead the design and delivery of software systems that operate at massive scale with high availability. You will work closely with economists, product managers, and engineering teams to translate business objectives into technical strategies. The role involves mentoring engineers and establishing best practices while driving multi-engineer projects from ambiguous problem statements to production-ready solutions. You will be a technical leader, influencing architecture decisions and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead of an engineering team
• Experience in econometrics, economic theory, and quantitative methods

• Lead multi-engineer projects end-to-end, driving design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational readiness.
• Own the architecture of your team's systems and provide system-wide design guidance.
• Clarify problem spaces and evaluate trade-offs across competing constraints.
