The Equipment Engineer will join the Satellite Hardware Manufacturing Team at Project Kuiper, focusing on improving equipment uptime and capability for manufacturing next-generation spacecraft. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of key integration and test equipment, ensuring high system availability through expertise in electro-optical systems. The engineer will leverage data analysis to develop maintenance programs and troubleshoot protocols, while also driving production capacity through capital investment and automation. The position requires collaboration with development groups and support for equipment technicians.

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• Experience with prototyping and implementation
• Experience reading and developing rack elevation diagrams, wiring diagrams, GD&T, etc.
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Data Acquisition (DAQ) Systems
• Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
• Experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on material handling equipment and automated systems
• Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies

• Develop system requirements and partner with development groups to drive detailed design of new equipment.
• Participate in sourcing plans for complex equipment, including COTS and custom solutions.
• Lead equipment integration and site acceptance testing.
• Develop troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and spares plans for equipment.
• Support second line escalation of critical equipment downtime.
• Specify and develop facilities interface requirements, including power, network, space, LN2/GN2, and PCW.
• Train and support equipment technicians responsible for routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
