The Research Data Scientist in Ads Insight and Measurement at Google will apply scientific and statistical methods to enhance advertising product creation and improvement. This role involves collaborating with engineers, analysts, and product managers to develop and implement innovative measurement products. The focus is on understanding consumer behavior and leveraging data to drive business decisions in a privacy-conscious environment. The position requires a strong foundation in quantitative methodologies and a passion for solving complex advertising challenges.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 3 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or a PhD degree.
- 5 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or a PhD degree is preferred.
- Experience with statistical data analysis such as linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and sampling methods.
- Familiarity with causal inference methods such as split-testing, instrumental variables, and regression discontinuity.
Responsibilities
- Help suggest, support, and shape new data-driven advertising measurement products, focusing on lift and incrementality measurement.
- Design and analyze large-scale experiments to evaluate advertising effectiveness and establish causal impact.
- Develop and implement advanced quantitative methods by combining causal inference, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
- Conduct end-to-end analyses of large, complex data sets to provide incrementality insights to partners at scale.
- Work cross-functionally to provide business recommendations and translate complex experimental findings into actionable insights.
