Job description

The Senior System Validation Engineer for the Pixel Watch at Google will lead the system validation strategy for next-generation devices, ensuring a smooth transition from prototyping to mass production. This role involves identifying and mitigating risks during early design stages to optimize system performance. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers, to deliver high-quality hardware. The position emphasizes the use of automation and data analysis to enhance validation processes and product excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in a consumer electronics technical environment, or 3 years with an advanced degree.
  • Experience in Python, MATLAB, or Perl, with architectural experience in developing test suites and automating system and hardware validations.

Responsibilities

  • Identify coverage gaps between Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and validation plans, partnering with TPMs to ensure all critical development milestones are met on schedule.
  • Define and execute comprehensive Critical User Journey (CUJ) test cases, engineering specialized automation and setups to accelerate validation.
  • Own end-to-end stress testing, leading initial debugging and root-cause analysis to resolve design flaws early.
  • Replicate complex failures to isolate specific signatures, collaborating across functional teams to mitigate system-level defects and enhance performance.
  • Integrate AI technologies into the validation ecosystem for Google consumer products to significantly advance test efficiency and overall engineering productivity.

Benefits

  • Employees at Google are often offered benefits like comprehensive health insurance, 401(k) matching, and flexible work arrangements, among other benefits.
