The Senior Power System Studies Engineer role at Jacobs focuses on supporting and leading projects related to power system modeling and analysis, particularly in the renewable energy sector. The successful candidate will work closely with regional and global power systems teams, engaging with various clients including renewable developers and utilities. The role offers flexibility with the option to work remotely from anywhere in North America, although preference is given to candidates in specific cities.

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 4 years of direct experience with system studies on utility scale renewable projects.
• Experience with power system studies using PSS/E, ETAP, and PSCAD or other equivalents.
• Knowledge of applicable industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, and CIGRE.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a focus on achieving results.
• Team player with great interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel within North America.

• Perform power system studies internal to the plant, including load flow, short circuit, insulation coordination, TOV, arc flash, and harmonics.
• Conduct external power system studies related to interconnection to ensure compliance with interconnection requirements and NERC standards.
• Support system studies projects throughout the whole lifecycle from technical bid/proposal to execution and client meetings.
• Contribute to the delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Work closely with team members across North America and globally.
• Engage with different types of customers including renewable developers, utilities, and ISOs/RTOs.
• Participate in ISO/RTO stakeholder forums and other technical committees such as IEEE or CIGRE.
