This role focuses on building scalable, distributed systems that support Amazon's global operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and drive technical decisions to enhance system reliability and performance. The team values innovation and operational excellence while addressing complex challenges at a global scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline build processes.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement.
  • Experience with distributed systems at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and build distributed micro-services handling millions of transactions daily with 99.99% uptime SLAs.
  • Design unified platforms consolidating legacy systems into single customer interfaces.
  • Implement real-time validation services with sub-second response times.
  • Develop scalable data ingestion engines supporting multiple formats with guardrail-based validation.
  • Build workflow automation systems with configurable approval routing and SLA tracking.
  • Optimize database queries and caching strategies ensuring sub-100ms response times for critical paths.
  • Drive architectural decisions for platform components and integration patterns.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical design discussions.
  • Establish best practices for system design, testing, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with product managers translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis for production systems.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
