Job description

Amazon Web Services' Hardware Engineering team is seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers to enhance the quality of AWS products in a dynamic international manufacturing environment. The role involves collaborating with various teams, including ODMs and CMs, to monitor hardware quality and resolve manufacturing issues. Engineers will take ownership of product launches and address early-life product failures. This position emphasizes a culture of inclusion and offers opportunities for mentorship and career growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of Manufacturing Engineering work experience with server platforms or high-tech hardware
  • 5+ years of product development experience
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
  • Experience with the project management of technical projects

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee quality control processes across Contract Manufacturers (CM), Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), and vendors
  • Deliver hands-on technical support during new product introductions and launches
  • Evaluate and optimize product designs for quality assurance and manufacturing efficiency of servers and rack systems
  • Investigate and resolve customer escalations through comprehensive root cause analysis
  • Support global operations through regular domestic and international travel (25-50% of time)

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
