Job description

Citi is seeking an experienced Lead Java Developer to support the Regulatory Reporting Hub, which is critical for ensuring global regulatory compliance. This role focuses on developing and enhancing Risk and Finance dashboard applications that provide analytical data to senior management. The ideal candidate will have 6–10 years of enterprise-level Java development experience and will work closely with both business and technology teams. This position offers opportunities to mentor junior developers and influence architectural decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering enterprise-level Java development projects.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Core Java, Spring Framework, Spring MVC, and J2EE.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and the Cloudera Ecosystem.
  • Strong proficiency in RESTful Web Services, XSD, JSON, and server-side integration patterns.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies including JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML5, CSS, and AJAX.
  • Experience developing high-performance, multi-threaded applications.
  • Solid knowledge of software design patterns.
  • Experience with web application servers, specifically WebSphere and WASND.
  • Familiarity with source code management tools, including SVN and Bitbucket.
  • Strong data analysis skills with hands-on experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
  • Experience in the banking, financial services, or compliance sector is strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java/J2EE web applications.
  • Build and enhance front-end components of dashboard applications.
  • Participate in and contribute to architectural design discussions.
  • Review code quality, identify and remediate defects, and provide mentorship.
  • Evaluate existing processing pipelines and recommend improvements.
  • Liaise with business users to gather and document business requirements.
  • Collaborate with technology partners and cross-functional teams.
  • Define and execute testing strategies, including managing User Acceptance Testing.
  • Lead weekly status review calls with stakeholders.
  • Provide reporting inputs for bi-weekly steering committee updates.
  • Work within an Agile delivery environment.
