- Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Solid understanding of SoC/PMU design and micro-architecture, with hands-on experience in silicon bring-up or post-silicon validation.
- Experience with high-speed memory systems and digital communication interfaces such as PCIe, RFFE, SPMI, DDR, USB, SPI, and I2C.
- Familiarity with interpreting and navigating complex schematics and PCB layouts.
- Working knowledge of hardware/software co-debug methodologies on multi-processor embedded systems.
- Hands-on hardware debugging expertise, including the use of modern lab equipment like DSOs, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
- Proficiency in developing targeted tests to exercise specific aspects of silicon designs and digital interfaces.
- Good understanding of modern operating systems, firmware, and device drivers, with the ability to create basic software routines and test scripts in languages such as Lua, Python, or C.
- Experience with volume stress testing, reliability screening, or production-level validation of wireless or cellular modem chipsets.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude for effectively presenting technical findings.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and verify baseband systems for mobile Apple products.
- Work closely with internal hardware and silicon teams to bring up and validate new digital interfaces and protocols.
- Collaborate with external vendors to address silicon design issues during development prototype builds.
- Develop successful integration and verification plans with external chipset vendors.
- Execute and debug system-level test plans for new silicon.
- Present technical findings and drive hardware issues to closure in a cross-functional team environment.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
