Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Robotics Research Scientist to join the Seattle Robotics Lab, which focuses on advanced robotics research across various domains including perception, planning, and control. The team aims to develop technologies that enable companies to integrate robotics into their operations. This role involves both technical leadership and hands-on contributions to innovative research projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong research background and a passion for applying robotics to real-world challenges.

Requirements

  • A PhD in Robotics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of research experience after completing your PhD, with 5+ years preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of robotics and AI theory and practice.
  • A proven track record of research excellence with publications in top conferences and journals.
  • Exceptional programming skills in Python, with familiarity in C++, CUDA, and Warp as a plus.
  • Fluency in modern deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and JAX.
  • Significant experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS2 and physics simulation frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop algorithms, models, and methods for robotic manipulation and loco-manipulation.
  • Integrate methods into real-world robotic manipulation systems.
  • Co-lead and contribute to multi-person research projects across the robotics and machine learning stack.
  • Engage with the academic community through publications, conferences, and workshops.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to transfer research into NVIDIA products.
  • Mentor interns and junior research scientists and engineers.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
