Job description
Apple's Human Interface Devices (HID) group is seeking an algorithms engineer to innovate human-computer interactions. This role involves working on various Apple products and developing new sensing technologies. The engineer will collaborate closely with hardware, software, and design teams to prototype and validate algorithmic concepts. The position requires a self-motivated individual who thrives in ambiguous situations and can build relationships across disciplines.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a related field.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Strong fundamentals in algorithms and mathematics, including state machine design, statistics, signal processing, and machine learning.
- Experience programming in C++ and Python.
- Experience developing for real-time systems.
- Experience developing interactions or input technologies.
- Experience with Objective-C and/or Swift.
- Experience developing software with agentic workflows.
Responsibilities
- Prototype and define interactions end-to-end.
- Investigate emerging technologies and new interaction paradigms.
- Develop and validate algorithmic concepts.
- Drive the technical work needed to bring ideas to life.
