Job description

This is a Director-level Software Engineering position within the Technology division at Morgan Stanley, focusing on developing and maintaining software solutions for business needs. The role is part of the FICFX team, which is dedicated to creating resilient, high-performance trading platforms. The team operates globally and emphasizes innovation and engineering excellence. Candidates will engage with product leads to enhance technology solutions and support mission-critical systems.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization to discuss opportunities for improvement.
  • Work across SAP ASE, SAP IQ, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL environments.
  • Design and optimize schemas, queries, and database structures.
  • Perform deep performance analysis and root cause troubleshooting.
  • Build and maintain automation using Python, Perl, and Shell.
  • Support real-time and batch data pipelines, ETL, and replication.
  • Enhance monitoring, data capture, and operational tooling.
