This role involves developing and maintaining automated metrology programs for various Coordinate Measuring Machine types to ensure precise dimensional characterization of space hardware. The Manufacturing Systems team focuses on providing Design for Manufacturability expertise and supports a fast-growing satellite production organization. The position requires collaboration with Manufacturing, Design, and Quality engineers to meet aerospace requirements. The successful candidate will also create Standard Operating Procedures and investigate anomalies in production processes.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
- 1+ years of experience using metrology tools and software
- Technical degree in a related field
- CAD experience with NX, Catia, Creo, or SolidWorks
- Familiarity with standard aerospace manufacturing processes
- Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2009)
- Programming experience with Metrolog software including supervisor mode and NCO
- Experience using communication services such as Jira and Slack, and Microsoft Office Suite
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated metrology programs for various Coordinate Measuring Machine types.
- Use CMMs with metrology software to uncover details around dimensional failures of space hardware.
- Use laser tracking systems to align and characterize sensitive production system equipment.
- Provide Design For Manufacturing feedback to stakeholders in the development of new production processes.
- Support partner teams in need of metrology programming expertise.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
- Investigate anomalies and provide feedback where the root cause of non-conformances is ambiguous.
