The Transmission Planning/Studies Engineer role at Jacobs focuses on supporting and leading projects related to transmission grids in the energy industry. The successful candidate will work closely with regional and global power systems teams, particularly with utility clients in the Northeast US. This position emphasizes the importance of transmission planners in shaping the future grid amidst ongoing decarbonization efforts. Candidates will engage in various power system studies and business development activities.

• Advanced degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 4 years of direct experience with power system studies using PSS/E, TARA, and/or PSCAD.
• Strong background with at least one of the following system operators: ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, or IESO.
• Up-to-date knowledge and experience with NERC, FERC, and NPCC reliability standards.
• Team player with great interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel within North America.

• Perform a variety of steady-state and transient power system studies.
• Participate in meetings with utilities as part of project delivery or business development.
• Lead or support projects throughout the entire lifecycle from technical bid/proposal to execution.
• Work closely with team members across North America and globally.
• Participate in ISO/RTO stakeholder forums and stay updated with the latest standards and requirements.
