The Hardware Systems Design Engineer role at Google focuses on developing custom silicon solutions for the company's direct-to-consumer products. As part of the Platforms Infrastructure Engineering team, you will work on hardware systems projects related to Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. This position involves collaboration with various teams to ensure that hardware designs meet product goals and are ready for production. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience working in a hardware design technical environment, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Experience in Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe), Double Data Rate (DDR), Ethernet, USB, and Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Gather system requirements, define architecture, execute hardware design, and validate products.
- Lead the bring up, validation, New Product Introduction (NPI), deployment, and sustaining of hardware solutions.
- Work cross-functionally with Hardware, Software, Mechanical, Thermal, Validation, Manufacturing, and external vendors.
- Drive system development from concept through production.
- Lead debug and root cause analysis of deployed systems.
