The Input Devices team is a dedicated group of engineers focused on creating innovative products that enhance the interaction between users and technology. This role involves using mechanical design engineering skills to develop products for the iPad and Mac ecosystems. Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering design role.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a closely-related major.
- Solid engineering fundamentals in statics, strength of materials, kinematics, and mechanism design.
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10-15% of the year internationally.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with industrial designers, hardware, software, and technology teams to define product vision.
- Explore multiple product form factors and develop new product architectures.
- Define kinematic behaviors to support ergonomic optimization.
- Integrate mechanisms, sensors, and other electromechanical components.
- Partner with internal manufacturing teams and external vendors to optimize designs.
- Ensure design meets requirements through stress and tolerance analysis, DFMEA, prototyping, testing, and failure analysis.
