Job description
The Supplier Base Engineer – Liquid Cooling Contamination Control will join NVIDIA's Supplier Base Engineering team to establish contamination control strategies and develop supplier capabilities for next-generation liquid cooling products. This role involves collaboration with various engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure product cleanliness and reliability. The engineer will focus on defining cleanliness standards and inspection methods while leading investigations into contamination-related failures. This position is critical for driving technical excellence from product introduction through high-volume production.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in contamination control, manufacturing engineering, fluid systems, precision assembly, or high-reliability product development.
- Experience developing contamination prevention strategies, cleanliness specifications, and inspection methodologies for manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with particle detection and cleanliness assessment techniques, including optical inspection, microscopy, particle counting, image analysis, or fluid cleanliness testing.
- Experience validating inspection systems using GR&R, correlation studies, process capability analysis, and false reject/escape analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, and operations groups.
Responsibilities
- Define contamination control and fluid cleanliness standards for liquid cooling components.
- Develop and validate inspection methods capable of detecting debris greater than 50 microns.
- Establish cleanliness criteria, sampling plans, acceptance thresholds, and filtration methods.
- Work with manufacturing, supplier quality, and engineering experts to identify contamination sources.
- Define cleaning, flushing, filtration, drying, packaging, and handling requirements.
- Lead root cause investigations for contamination-related failures.
- Lead supplier qualification, process audits, and ongoing improvement efforts.
