Job description

As a Utilities and Energy Sector / Grid AI Solutions Architect at NVIDIA, you will leverage innovative AI and accelerated computing solutions to enhance the power and utilities sector. You will collaborate with customers, partners, and NVIDIA engineers to develop AI applications that support grid modernization and resilience. This role requires a passion for advancing opportunities in grid simulation and forecasting, while serving as a trusted technical advisor. You will engage with various stakeholders to deliver high-value GPU-accelerated grid solutions.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related experience.
  • Extensive practical understanding of the power and utilities sector and power-system basics.
  • Hands-on experience with power-system modeling and simulation tools such as pandapower, OpenDSS, and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Ability to translate power-system problems into GPU-accelerated workflows using NVIDIA's accelerated-computing and AI stack.
  • Familiarity with grid data models, standards, and protocols such as CIM and IEC 61850.
  • Over 4 years of professional experience in power-systems engineering, data science, or software development.
  • Experience with modern Deep Learning software architecture and frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Comfortable with modern application-deployment practices such as Docker/Containers and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with industry and account teams to understand customer goals and define GPU-accelerated grid solutions.
  • Build and prototype solutions for specific grid problems such as load forecasting and predictive asset maintenance.
  • Help develop industry direction by integrating NVIDIA technology into AI and HPC architectures for grid applications.
  • Strategically partner with flagship customers and industry-specific solution partners targeting NVIDIA's computing platform.
  • Collaborate primarily through virtual tools, with up to 20% travel required.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
