Job description
NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team focused on developing a high-performance, low-latency streaming stack for their GeForce NOW gaming service. The role involves innovating and improving media streaming technologies to deliver exceptional video quality and performance. The engineer will collaborate with GPU hardware and software teams to optimize the video pipeline and enhance user experience. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge applications in gaming and other interactive graphics domains.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
- Proficient in C, C++, multi-threaded programming, and system software design
- Experience with GPU-accelerated video and graphics pipelines, including hardware-based video encoders
- Familiarity with API frameworks such as DirectX, Vulkan, CUDA, OpenGL, V4L2, and NvMedia
- Solid understanding of video codecs like H.264, HEVC, and AV1
- Proficiency in telemetry, statistical data analysis, and performance monitoring
- Strong understanding of different layers of the software stack and system software performance analysis
- 6+ years of experience in the above areas
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve the media streaming stack to deliver ultra-low streaming latency and high video quality
- Innovate, design, and develop features to enhance image quality, performance, reliability, security, and maintainability
- Analyze GPU/CPU performance for the video pipeline and implement solutions to isolate bottlenecks
- Develop tools to measure video quality experienced by users and refine them for quality evaluation
- Leverage the latest video compression technologies to deliver high-quality streaming solutions
- Build adaptive streaming solutions that maintain quality under variable network conditions
