Job description

NVIDIA is seeking an experienced Compiler Optimization Engineer to join their Compute Compiler Team. This role focuses on enhancing CUDA and other compute compilers to optimize the performance of NVIDIA GPUs across various computational workloads, including deep learning and scientific computation. The engineer will work on core compiler components that accelerate general-purpose computation on GPUs. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with top minds in GPU computing and systems software.

Requirements

  • B.S, M.S or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Compiler Optimizations such as Loop Optimizations, Inter-procedural optimizations and Global optimizations.
  • Excellent hands-on C++ programming skills.
  • Understanding of any Processor ISA, with GPU ISA being a plus.
  • Strong background in software engineering principles with a focus on crafting robust and maintainable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the performance of application code running on NVIDIA GPUs using profiling tools.
  • Identify opportunities for performance improvements in the MLIR/LLVM based compiler middle end optimizer.
  • Identify and implement novel ideas in the compilation pipeline to enable best-in-class performance of AI workloads.
  • Design and develop new compiler passes and optimizations to produce robust and supportable compiler tools.
  • Interact with the Open-source LLVM community to ensure tighter integration.
  • Collaborate with geographically distributed compiler, hardware, and application teams to oversee improvements and problem resolutions.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
