Job description

The Cellular System Engineer role at Apple involves working on modem systems features and requirements as part of the system engineering team. This position focuses on both pre- and post-silicon bring up and validation of end-to-end cellular systems. The engineer will map system algorithms and requirements to hardware and firmware architecture while engaging in simulation and emulation-based validation. The role requires a strong understanding of communication system theory and signal processing to design various algorithms.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of cellular communication standards such as 5G NR and 4G LTE.
  • Familiarity with 6G technology is an advantage.
  • Deep knowledge of communication system theory and signal processing.
  • Experience with Matlab, C/C++, and/or Python for algorithm development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre- and post-silicon bring up and validation of cellular systems.
  • Map systems algorithms and requirements to hardware and firmware architecture.
  • Engage in simulation and emulation-based validation of control flows and algorithms.
  • Design algorithms for various communication processes including LDPC and Turbo encoding.
  • Perform lab testing and characterization of wireless communication systems.
